MY PROJECTS

Project | 01
Wiki Page

In this project we (the class) basically were introduced to making wiki pages on the wiki site for the course. I managed to make myself a wiki page by following the instructions given, however, I felt like my design was not perfect. It seemed mediocre at best. Since it was my first time making a wiki page, I did not do as bad as I initially thought. One thing I would have changed is keeping the spacing of white text and design in mind.

Project | 02
Ethnography

This project called for observation and taking field notes on a previous class. I decided to do a cultural artifact on the wiki page of a previous technical writing class. Two memos were required as well as an ethnography and an auto-ethnography of ourselves.

Project 3
Instruction Set

Along with a partner, we had to create an instruction set on the Wiki-How platform. Our topic dealt with communication within a restaurant workplace.

Project 4
WAT Shower

Also along with a partner, we had to work on a component of a website of a client's provided by techtown. The client was working on developing a product that could be helpful for physically impaired people and their hygiene.

Project 5
2019 Citizenship Conference

In a group, we had to help prepare for a conference that took place in the Intergrative Biosciences Center on Wayne State's campus. We basically dealt with promotion via social media such as Facebook and Twitter. Afterwards, we had to maintain those event pages and made a social media report in regards to the conference.

Project 6
WAT Shower: Putting it all together

Coming back to work on the WAT Shower's website, a group of us focused on describing the technology and integrated the product comparison chart into the website. The initial draft worked fine with the site's previous color themes but there was a lot of work that needed to be done. The color themes of the site were definitely changing, and our group had to make sure that the chart conformed to these changes. After going through multiple drafts, we managed to come up with a final design.
A  few major things with the chart that was placed into consideration was clarity and making sure it was readable. The color scheme for the background had to be neutral so that the readers can scan the chart easily. Overall, we learned that simplicity is better.
